Dulles Metrorail Silverline Project

The Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project, the Silver Line, is a 23 mile extension of the current Washington Metrorail System. It was built in two phases. Phase 1, from East Falls Church through Tysons Corner to Wiehle Avenue in Reston, opened for passenger service on July 26, 2014.

Phase 2 extends westward from Wiehle Avenue to Ashburn in eastern Loudoun County, and was be completed in approximately five years on November 15, 2022, the Silver Line provides a one-seat no transfer ride from Loudoun and Dulles Airport to downtown Washington and east to Largo, MD.
